I thought I'd get a great cheese steak or pork sandwich from this place. Ate here 3 times and will never again. You get 2 pieces of steak on your sandwich and it tastes like rubber. awful spot.

in town for a business trip, and decided to try some philly cheese steaks. after checking reviews and asking for local tips, we decided to try Tony Luke's. It was just okay, and service was good. We aren't sure what the fuss is all about...meat is underseasoned but plentiful...and the bread is excellent. but i could make this at home. oh well! check one off the bucket list as a been there, done that, no need to do it again.

ok ok so I didn't go to the traditional south philly location, but I always wanted to try this place.so I was on little trip to King of Prussia which has a very huge mall .the place needs its own zip code lol. but enough about the mall. I found the tony lukes location which was in the food court at the plaza section of the mall. I tried this stuff called Pazottis basically fried dough stuffed with a filling inside. I tried the buffalo chicken one, omg so amazing. Of course I couldn't leave without trying their famed cheesesteak. I had mine with whiz and mushrooms, delish. The next time I visit a tony lukes will definitely be in South Philly but two thumbs up on the food.

I agree with those who found the amount of beef in their sandwiches to be sparse. However, if you are a fan of chicken steaks, nobody beats Tony Luke's at The Plaza. The chicken breast is chunky, not shredded, and they pack the roll, which is top notch. Based on the chicken, they earn five stars.

When I heard Tony Luke's was coming to the KoP mall, I thought my health and fitness goals would go down the drain since I would be there every day for lunch. However, good thing to know that won't be happening since I won't be going back. As a Philly native, I am huge fan Philly cheesesteaks (mushrooms "whiz-wit"), especially the original Tony Luke's on Oregon Ave. I had high hopes for this place that had replaced the previously, pathetic place that dared to call themselves a "cheesesteak joint". I almost didn't realize, but the new Tony Luke's had hired the same cook from the previous place. This is the same cook that would give you only 2 oz of meat per hoagie roll. When I saw him as the cook in this new place, I anticipated the worse. However, I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he'd change his ways and not cheap out on the meat (probably because his boss had made him do so at the old place). However, when i unwrapped my sandwich, I noticed the amount of meat he gave me in this hoagie is shameful. It only had a few strips of meat the lined the walls of the bread. If i didn't open the bread, i would have thought it is nothing but a greasy Italian roll. It was an embarrassment to call what I had a Philly cheesesteak. But I ate it... and I was left hungry and disappointed. I would post pictures of this cheesesteak that I ordered, but I do not want to tarnish the good name of Tony Luke. However, I definitely won't be coming here again unless they bring back the "Philly" in their steaks... cheesy, juicy, and packed with meat. Tony, my man, you gotta talk to your boy.

Was at the King of Prussia mall, and was all set to go to the Shake Shack, which they just built outside the mall. Saw Tony Luke's, and figured I had to give it a try as I'm from Pittsburgh, and don't make it down to South Philly very often. I'm sure the original location (I've never been there) must be better as it's always winning awards on TV, but the one in the mall is just ok. Don't get me wrong, it was a good sandwich, but can't hold a candle to a sandwich from Pat's, or Geno's. The store was staffed with what looked like typical mall food court employees, and I don't think they care about the quality like they would at the original location. It was definitely better than your average mall food though, so you can't go wrong with it, but if you want a fantastic sandwich, you'll have to drive downtown.

We all know that the cheesesteaks are awesome so I won't get into that. During Lent a buddy visited me from out of town. In our college days we would go to the south philly location. I went with him but I don't eat meat during Lent. I was complaining at the counter and I was told they could do a veggie with broccoli rabe and provolone cheese. It was amazing. Forward to this Monday. Sprint phone was acting up so I took it in and they told me about an hour. Decided to have lunch in the food court and boom there it was Tony Lukes. I was craving that broccoli rabe sandwich I had down in the city. It was spot on... As far as chessesteaks we are pretty lucky in this area. They are all pretty good not like out Midwest or in the South. So to say the best is tough but I think Tony Luke's is up there and in the top 5.

Speed review: Decent Philly Cheesesteak. You can pick your type of cheese - american, provolone (my pick), or revolting Cheese Whiz (yeah, I know . . .it's a Philly thing). Sam'ich had plenty of cheese, not quite enough meat, and decent bread. Fries were crunchy but very ordinary. For mall food it's good. Otherwise, you can do better.

"Out of" chicken cutlet two nights in a row. 8pm tonight; more like 8:30 last night. Not acceptable for such a core product ... for which I made a special trip to the Mall and which I previously spoke highly of on Yelp. What earlier time IS cutlet available? I won't be coming back to find out. Let's see if Chick-Fil-A still has chicken left or if Five Guys still had burgers left or Chipotle ...

The original location is good, with very long lines. But this one needs a visit from Tony. Bread is subpar, steamed and not crusty. Meat is...lower grade than I remember. Expansion has hurt them.
(2)Alex S.
Who voted this place the best cheesesteak? People who believe hype and have no taste buds, that's who. I just finished one with provolone and all I tasted was the bread and the cheese. The meat had zero taste. Steve' Prince of steaks is still the best cheesesteak sandwich.

I went to Tony Luke's in King of Prussia with my girlfriend and her cousin who was here from out of town and wanted to try a Philadelphia cheesesteak. As I know Tony Luke's is a well known cheesesteak restaurant in Philadelphia, I decided to go to the one in King of Prussia since it was closer and would waste less time in driving. The cheesesteaks here were as decent as the original Tony Luke's cheesesteaks. I went ahead and ordered mine with bacon and wiz which was a good combination on this sandwich. We all enjoyed our cheesesteaks and finished each of them. I actually brought one home for a late night snack but it wasn't as good reheated so that didn't go as planned, but the cheesesteak eaten right off the grill was pretty good. I wouldn't say it is my favorite cheesesteak in Philadelphia but it can definitely fit somewhere in the top five or ten spots. Overall, Tony Luke's in King of Prussia, PA provides decent cheesesteak sandwiches and is worth a visit if you are interested in having one.

Meh. I'd never been to Tony Luke's and having gone for the first time at the mall, I'd probably say that I won't be back. I had a traditional cheesesteak and not only was it overpriced, but it wasn't great. Steak wasn't chopped and it was pretty thin considering the price (9 dollars). No competition for Ishkabibbles, Larry's or Max's.

My last review here a year ago gave them kudos on a chicken steak. They were well deserved kudos at the time. I gave them a chance today on a chicken cutlet with rabe and provolone. And now I remember why I'm so against Tony's mall stands. The sandwich was thoroughly uninspiring. They told me it was sharp provolone but nothing was sharp about it. The cutlet had a rubbery chewy feel to it, and a pretty bland taste. The roll was the only redeeming part. It wasn't terrible, but nowhere near as good as what they put out in South Philly, and most definitely not worth a $10 outlay. I expect this quality from Subway, not from Tony Luke. Maybe it was a bad day. But when you're charging $10 a sandwich, you're not allowed to have bad days.

The employees here were super friendly. But this place is really just kinda overrated. The meat is very bland and thin. The roll is where this place rocks it, if you ask me. It is just perfectly crisp and right for this application.

Trying to keep a shapely female figure when you LOVE cheesesteaks is hard... So I don't like to splurge just anytime. But when I was at KOP seeing that Tony Luke's sign glowing in the food court it was like God telling me "today you need a cheesesteak"! I live in Philly and was beyond excited to find Tony Luke's here too! The menu here is bigger than most cheesesteak places with chicken cutlet sandwiches and chicken cheesesteaks too. They also have a grilled vegetable sandwich for vegetarians! They're also featuring a special rib eye steak sandwich! French fries were perfection- hot crispy and covered in gooey cheese whiz. The Italian chicken cutlet sandwich was also awesome with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe, and 3 chicken cutlets for $9.99! Sandwiches come in traditional or junior sizes too :)

Well I haven't yet been to the original Tony Luke's, just this location at the mall. What a delicious and pleasant surprise! I had rather low expectations of the food because I was eating at a mall food court. But it was very tasty. Now I haven't lived in Philly that long, and I am by no means a cheesesteak connoisseur, but the steaks here are very tasty. Probably the best I've had. I am partial to the cheesteak hoagie and bread was nice and toasted, the meat tasted really good as did the cheese. The veggies were fresh, plentiful and delicious. Also ordered a side of fries that were tasty too. Cooked right, seasoned well, nice thicker cut fry. I imagine the non-mall location(s) would be tastier and now that I liked this one so much, I'm going to check out that too.

What a disappointment. There was not enough meat and what little it had had it hNO flavor., The roll was not fresh or tasty.

I had high expectations of this place, even though it's a mall food court location. This guys cheese steaks have been documented as some of the best in Philadelphia. Well, this location was terrible. The cheesesteak was dripping in grease and the bread was falling apart by the time I opened it up at my table. I returned it for a refund.
(1)Glen M.
Mall food court location for a Philadelphia institution. The cheese steaks are about as good as it gets, though.
(5)Michael P.
If you rate regular Tony Luke's steaks as a 5, this would be a 4. Still very good but not the same as the original. More in line with what you'd get at the ballpark. The bread was really fresh though and that is a huge plus. If you haven't had a Tony Luke's steak ever, it could be hit or miss with you. It's not intended to be a Pat's or Gino's steak and you may be disappointed if that's what you expect going into it.

Tony Luke's is one of my favorite cheesesteak places and I was really happy to see that one opened up in the King of Prussia mall food court. Although they are famous for their cheesesteaks, my favorite thing to order is roast pork with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. I ordered one this weekend and wondered if it would be as good as the south Philly location. Well it was delicious. It did not disappoint at all. The mall was busy but the line at Tony Luke's was short. My order came out relatively quick too. My wife ordered a cheesesteak hoagie which I tasted and it was also good. One cool thing I noticed is that they offer a six inch version of their sandwiches too. I like that cause it makes it easier to justify passing up healthier options in the food court.

For a cheesesteak in the mall food court it's pretty damn good! I was expecting a heavy greasy mess but was pleasantly surprised. The roll was soft, meat was chopped and tender, cheese perfectly melted. The girls at the counter definitely have their heads in the clouds but they're friendly so most times I don't mind repeating my order.

I'm sticking to Pudge's, my favorite steak joint in the suburbs after eating here. 20min wait on a Sunday in mid afternoon to get 2 simple steaks and fries. The fries and the generous portion cheese cup were the only good things about the meal. The steak was dry and looked no different than a Steak-Um. It was all bread, and the bread was more of a French baguette consistency. No thanks, not returning.

Was at the mall over the weekend starving. I tasted the cheesesteak with wiz, onions mushrooms and mayo, it was REALLY GOOD. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak but when i got back to my seat I found they had messed up my order and gave me the regular cheesesteak with american cheese, which was just ok. I didnt want to wait in line again so I ate it. But I was very disappointed I did not get what I asked for. So disappointed I gave them 3 stars. The counter girl seemed tired and I had to repeat my order 3x to her. Had I known they were goin to give me a regular steak I would have ordered to my liking wit Wiz.
